Celebrating the life of a beloved friend

25 March 2020

The School of Philosophy and Theology is saddened to report that one of our longest serving academics, Sr Clare Sciesinski PBVM, died yesterday. Sr Clare began teaching at the University in 1996 and retired in November 2019.

We are saddened at the passing of a beloved friend and colleague but we also celebrate her life. The most compelling memory of Sr Clare is her sense of humour. The sound of her laughter was a reminder that the world is a good place.

May the memory of Sr. Clare be a source of strength and blessing for us all. She knew how to connect to the heart and soul, to give life, and to resurrect hope.

In Domino,

Professor Philip Matthews

Incline, O Lord, Your ear to our prayers,

in which we humbly beseech Your mercy,

that You would place the soul of Your servant Clare,

which You have called from this world,

into the region of peace and light;

and unite her in the fellowship of Your Saints.

through Christ our Lord, Amen.
